October 2022 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Floyd Collins are strictly for discussing the topic of their associated main pages and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about unrelated topics. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks.   Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your revision with reasoning "Using talk page as forum". Please elaborate on what element of my submission constituted talk page usage as a forum. Remember, editing disagreements about articles belong in their corresponding discussion page. From Wikipedia's talk page guidelines: "The purpose of an article's talk page (accessible via the talk or discussion tab) is to provide space for editors to discuss changes to its associated article or WikiProject." In my submission I discussed the changes associated with the article on caver Floyd Collins. I did not share any off-topic thoughts or personal views.
By Wikipedia's own policies the discussion I contributed is within acceptable guidelines, especially in regard to allegations I used Wikipedia as a forum. By Wikipedia's own guidelines my submission should not have been removed and will be subject to restoration. If this assessment does not sit well with others, then I would be happy to seek dispute resolution.
In addition, while Wikipedia talk:Wikipedia is not a forum is a useful page, it is frequently the target of constructive debate and should be used with caution, especially by young patrolling editors. If this disagreement was due to a language barrier, please try using a different Wikipedia, and if it was not, please stop patrolling changes for the time being, and certainly not in the talk pages designed to discuss them. Thanks for being polite and welcoming, have a good day! 2600:8800:118:6D00:9144:E3B6:C399:CEA9 (talk) 18:39, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
