While you're here edit

Hi there. Thanks for posting at Talk:Child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I notice you write "The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195" – if you're going to keep contributing, why not create an account? DBD 17:07, 1 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Fair question, DBD.
I've actually been a regular contributor to the Refdesks and occasional (mostly copy-) editor in article-space since about 2005, using various home and work IPs. ( -195 was my last long-term home IP, before my ISP was taken over by another that issues dynamic IPs, hence my adoption of the pseudo-sig; -92 is my current work IP.)
The reason I haven't as yet created an account (and I may well decide to do so in due course) is that because of my idiosyncratic, slightly OCD personality, I would then feel obliged to bone up systematically on all the relevant policies and how-to's (which heretofore I've picked up by osmosis as necessary) and devote regular, as opposed to opportunistic, time to the Project. Having in the last few years been variously unemployed (and thus committed to job-hunting), or employed in an (over-) demanding job, I haven't thus far felt up to this (entirely self-imposed) level of commitment.
If and when I overcome this entirely self-generated semi-delusional stance, I will indeed sign up properly. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 212.95.237.92 (talk) 13:09, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. All the best with all that. DBD 16:48, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Some baklava for you! edit

Just want you to know you've got a soul-sister with a similar situation about editing in WP. We might share some thoughts about this sometime. Meanwhile, I hope you'll keep up your involvement however you can. Deborahjay (talk) 09:53, 24 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
