Attention:

This IP address, 212.85.7.14, is registered to Richmond upon Thames Council and may be shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

However, you might still be unable to edit Wikipedia if the IP you are using is blocked due to a MediaWiki "feature". In such a case you could request to be unblocked.

In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts will be made to contact Richmond upon Thames Council to report network abuse.

Reality check: In practice, however, the great majority of this IP's edits have been to add links from numerous articles to this or that page within the site kelvin.infinites.net. The addition of linkspam follows a predictable pattern: 212.85.7.14 keeps doing it till the warning messages start threatening to block him, then lays off for a little while, and later comes back and does the same thing all over again. -- Hoary 10:41, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 212.85.7.14). Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.

When you edit pages:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such content or editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can click the edit this page tab above, type {{helpme}} in the edit box, and then click Save Page; an experienced Wikipedian will be around shortly to answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to ask a question on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia./wangi 11:41, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Medieval Life. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. [[User:Wisden17|Wisd[[WP:EA|<font color="green">'''e'''</font>]][[User talk:Wisden17|n17]]]] 13:40, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

July 2006 edit

Hi. I see you (or someone that has used IP address 212.85.7.14) keeps adding references to Hampton Wick to the London article. As previously noted by User:Zzuuzz, the London article is too broad to include mentions of minor areas such as Hampton Wick, so that is why people keep reverting your edits. Cheers, --A bit iffy 14:12, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ditto for Hampton Court. Hampton Wick is near Hampton Court, and the path along the river does indeed pass (for about one clause in one of your sentences) by Hampton Court, but these are not matters about Hampton Court. That's why I deleted your two links from Hampton Court. I did so with an explanatory edit summary. You put them back in with no edit summary or explanation. Please don't do this again. Thank you. -- Hoary 09:54, 15 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

You added links to that website again, so I reverted your additions again. Please read what's above, digest it, and understand it. Either (i) comply, or (ii) explain what I misunderstand. Thank you. -- Hoary 10:18, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

And you did it again. I'm supposed to "WP:AGF", but am having trouble thinking of a third alternative to: (a) you are desperate to spam your site; (b) you are obtuse. Again, if you disagree, you are welcome to argue your case on the relevant talk page: something you seem never to have done. -- Hoary 20:37, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

August 2006 edit

You did it again. Stop, or you'll be prevented from editing. Or is there something that you don't understand? -- Hoary 14:13, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add links to your own personal wibsites to Wikipedia, Wikipedia is not a web directory. Please so WP:EL for our linking guidelines.

Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in London. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. /wangi 11:41, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is the only warning you will receive. Your recent spam vandalism by insertion of commercial content and/or links will not be tolerated. The next time you insert of commercial content and/or links into a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ST47 11:42, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

. . . whereupon he simply lay low for a while, returned, and readded linkspam to the same old kelvin.infinites.net. Suggestion: Block this IP from editing for one month the next time he does the same thing. (Is there anything in the contribution history that suggests WP would thereby miss any worthwhile contributions?) -- Hoary 10:44, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

The IP's reaction to the message immediately above: to add more linkspam. I suppose it could be said that I didn't provide enough time for him and others to disagree with my idea of locking him out for a month, so I instead blocked him from editing for a paltry three hours. -- Hoary 11:06, 7 October 2006 (UTC) Something funny going on. This is the first time I've seen this page - don't know anything about the above edit which gave you a laugh, nor the medieval thing - you must be confusing me with someone else. Found this page by accident on Google 20 July 2007 -Kelvin Adams.Reply

You spammed again, so you're blocked again edit

Yet again. -- Hoary 13:24, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
