edit

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 6 months for block evasion.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  signed, Rosguill talk 15:29, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

As advised by Rosguill I kindly request to unblock this IP, although it's no longer in use according to this discussion. As you might see in the server log files I have never been online with any account. Thanks and regards, 77.116.211.76 (talk) 17:25, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This is not your IP address. If the person operating from this IP address wishes to be unblocked, they can make a request. Yamla (talk) 17:52, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Yamla, the second IP claims to be the same person as the blocked IP and inquired about the block on my talk page. Because of the changing IP, what's at stake here is less the IP's ability to contribute further and more whether their comment at the Tobias Broeker AfD should be struck or not. I thought asking them to request an unblock here would be the simplest way to evaluate the situation. signed, Rosguill talk 18:08, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

While I don't fault anyone, I sort of feel this sort of situation is something we often handle poorly. Putting aside the struck comments, if the new IP tries to edit the AFD or article or ANI or whatever they'll surely be blocked for block evasion as a self admit evader. Yet forcing them to get themselves blocked before they can effectively appeal the other block seems a bit pointless. This can arise with editor's with accounts as well when the editor with the new account says they lost access to the old account. Nil Einne (talk) 05:54, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
