Welcome! edit

Hi there, 123torrent, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm a regular contributor here, and when I notice on the recent changes log that a new editor has registered, I like to send them a welcome message - that's how I ended up on your talk page.

If you've never edited here before, there are a few useful links that you might want to look at, designed to help newcomers learn the ropes:

Here are a few features of Wikipedia that I find particularly helpful:

  • If you leave a message on a talk page, you can sign it with four tildes (~~~~), which will automatically produce your name and a date stamp when you save the page
  • The "Show preview" button allows you to look at what your post will look like before you save it - that way, you can proofread what you've written and not have to back and correct spelling mistakes, failed links, etc.
  • You can create a watchlist for yourself that will keep a record of any changes made to a page that interests you.

There are plenty of other features and facets of Wikipedia, many of which I probably haven't even discovered myself, so have fun looking around and finding them.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! - Tapir Terrific, 20:56, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

John Rutsey edit

In regards to your edit to that article, I agree with you that John's final performance with Rush is of sufficient interest to be included in the article. However, you did not provide a reference to back it up. Do you have a reliable source that can confirm this? I have cite tagged it, rather than remove it, for the time being, in hopes that you can provide a reference. Thank you! 2tuntony (talk) 10:06, 23 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough, the reliable sources would be their tour itinerarys which are widely available online, as well as as the DVD Beyond the Lighted Stage, where the band recalls they only had a 2 weeks with Peart joining before their tour began in Pittsburgh. Also, from Rush's official Wikipedia page under the category "the early years 1968-76" this fact is stated "His last performance with the band was on July 25, 1974 at Centennial Hall in London, Ontario. Rush held auditions for a new dummer and eventually selected Neil Peart as Rutsey's replacement. Peart officially joined the band on July 29, 1974, two weeks before the group's first U.S. tour. They performed their first concert together, opening for Uriah Heep and Manfred Mann with an attendance of over 11,000 people at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 14.". Hope that helps. §
