If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the prod template, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If the tag is removed without the concerns being addressed, the article may still face deletion through debate atWikipedia:Articles for deletion.

The "historic" Cincinnati tennis tournament

Hi, I don't want to upset you, but I think that the word "historic" is inappropriate in all the places in which you apparently have put it. Sure, I agree that in the article about the tournament itself you can call it historic. In all the others, though, such as the articles about Talbert and Trabert and the dozens of people who have played in that tournament, it's unnecessary. Okay, it's old. Say so in the major article, then forget about it. I myself have been playing tennis for 50 years, and following it keenly for that period of time, and I've gotta say that I've never even *heard* of the tournament. To me, it's just one more tournament among 20 or 30 every year. The old Forest Hills tournament was historic. So is Wimbledon. So is Roland Garros, but they're not called historic in the articles about Gonzales, Borg, Laver, and the others.... Hayford Peirce 02:50, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Kreigh Collins

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Kreigh Collins, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. William Harris (tennis)

I see you have a history of working on the article William Harris (tennis). I am looking at it from the project Wikipedia:Unreferenced articles where it is one of the longest {{unreferenced}} tagged articles that does not meet at least the barest minimum of verifiability. It has been tagged and completely without references since June 2006. It would be extremely helpful if you had some references you could add to the article to help support its verifiability and notability. Thanks for any help you can give. Speedy deletion of Greater Cincinnati Tennis Association

A tag has been placed on Greater Cincinnati Tennis Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nomination of Fred Hagist for deletion

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
