Hi, all: I'm Zilchlucre, a west coast American living in Europe. My main background is in ecology, marine biology, and aquaculture, but I'm the sort of person to dip her toes into lots of fields. I'm a big traveler, a lover of languages, and an outdoorsy sort of rambler. My big passion is algae, specifically seaweeds, and I've been having a grand time tasting foraged kelp from all over the world.
Mostly I'll be out here adjusting grammar and adding citations - I may as well use the scientific papers I read for something outside academia. It's my firm belief that Wikipedia is one of the best popular sources for scientific information around, and it's pretty much my duty as an over-educated nerd to contribute to it.
