For the record, I work at Lincoln University, New Zealand and will occasionally make minor copyedits informed by local knowledge (for example on the level of knowing that such-and-such is the canonical persistent url for a document that's already in a page's reference section) but will obviously steer clear of any more conflict-of-interest-ish substantive edits.
