The Odakyu 2600 series (小田急2600形, Odakyū 2600-gata) was a commuter electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the private railway operator Odakyu Electric Railway in Japan from 1964 to 2004.
Design edit
The 2600 series was the first "wide-body" communter train type ordered by Odakyu, featuring a 20-metre (65 ft 7 in) car length and a 2,900-millimetre (9 ft 6 in) car width. The type featured a 100-millimetre (4 in) width increase over that of standard commuter trains operated by JNR at the time, as well as a 3-metre (9 ft 10 in) increase in length over the cars of the preceding 2400 series "High Economical".[1][2]
