Omkar Math is a center for divine approach located south of Sri Harihareshwara Temple on the banks of the holy river Tungabhadra. The building has a beautiful structure and features a large brindavan of tulasi (holy basil plant) in the front side, as well as the Navagraha temple to the left. The Guru Parampara (lineage of gurus) can be explored in the Guruparampara menu, and Sri Math photos and events can be viewed in the Gallery.

Under the influence of Sri Adi Shankar and his teachings on Advaita (non-dualism), Sri Padmanabha Teertha established a divine atmosphere around the borders of Maharashtra and Karnataka. Following in the footsteps of Sri Adi Shankar, Sri Padmanabha Teertha created a divine atmosphere. Sri Shivananda Teertha, one of the staunch followers of Sri Padmanabha Teertha, established Omkar Math in Harihara on March 28, 1941, with the cooperation of local devotees. The idols of Sri Sharadambha, Sri Dattatreya, and Sri Adi Shankara were installed in Sri Math. Swami Sri Shivananda Teertha Trust was established to ensure the continued and joyous activities of Sri Math.

The revered saints who have blessed the devotees of Harihara by visiting Omkar Math include Sri Sri Jagadguru of Sringeri Math, Sri Sri Jagadguru of Kudali Sringeri Math, Sri Sri Jagadguru of Kanchi Kamakoti, Sri Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati of Swarnavalli Math, and Sri Sri Shankar Bharati of Yadatore Yoganandeshwara Saraswati Math. The peaceful atmosphere, facilities, and temples surrounding the Math attract many devotees for their rituals and meditation.
