I am an Instructional Designer/Project Manager with the Washington State University's Distance Degree Programs and for the past three years I have assisted instructors who deliver courses in a variety of formats (print based, online, semester-based, flex, etc.) to distance students in a variety of roles.
I started out as a Faculty Services Coordinator and, as I acted as their "travelling companion" during course delivery, instructors asked me all sorts of questions, including ones related to course design.
I have been much more exposed to instructional design, its opportunities and challenges since moving to my current role, and I have become more intrigued by the potential of online teaching and learning and more eager and determined to become as knowledgeable as I possibly can in all aspects of instructional design.
