Dr ERTUgrul UNVER ( Professor) in 3D & Product Design at the University of Huddersfield he worked in the a UK based Industrial Design consultancy in 1995 - 1999 as designer & CAD/CAM manager where he designed a number of consumer products including laptops, mobile phones, monitors, security & monitoring devices. In 1999, he was appointed as Senior Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield, teaching on BA/BSc Product Design the he became the course leader for BA Industrial Design and BSc Product Design and also MA 3D Digital Design courses. His recent research on the patented scalp cooling research project which allowed the company to interpret data from clinical trials in order to improve the efficacy of scalp cooling for enhancing the credibility of scalp cooling among the medical community, helping to alleviate any fears clinicians had about the treatment. Publications from these studies have been presented at several cancer conferences throughout the world. The project has led to the design and development of a 21st century cooling cap system which offers a much better fit to all head shapes including ethnic varieties which uses 3D printed tooling technologies and will pave the way for mass manufacture using silicone sheet technology. He has also worked on developing a curriculum, implementation program and materials for designing an innovative course covering technical drawing, geometrical tolerances and assembly under "design for manufacture" subjects targeting mechanical engineering by using VR-AR technologies. VR/AR (2018)
