year 7 it. edit

this is an article about all I have learned from year 7 it.

E-Safety edit

first we started with e-safety, a general topic that most primary and secondary schools cover. we learnt this at the beginning of the year to introduce us to it.

S- Safe. keep safe by never sharing you personal info. this includes: full name, e-mail address, address, phone number, photos and your school name or location.

M-Meet. never meet up with someone you have met online; even if they seem really nice.

A-accepting. don't accept anonymous e-mails as they are most likely a spam or some type of virus.

R-reliable. check the information that you receive from web sites as some websites aren't the best...

T-Tell. tell a trusted adult when you are worried.[1]

we also covered types of malware like, worms, trojan horses, time bombs, rootkit. and many more

storage edit

we did a lot about storage. this linked into the different parts of a computer system as we went on to learn about ROM and RAM.

Read Only Memory and Random Access Memory. the ROM stores the data and documents that cannot be edited, only read. and the RAM is the data that you are currently working on.

Databases edit

a database is a collection of data organised in lists. an example of one is a doctors record. there are different field and record which put the information into lists. to find different pieces you can use queries to find and sort through data when there are multiple lists and records. Access is a tool for collecting and organising data and sorting them into place. Databases keep growing and changing all the time with more and more information being added and deleted and changed. you can have parameter query is when you leave the specifications blank; if you do this correctly then it will ask you to specify what you mean.[2]

Algorithms edit

algorithms are a group of instructions that usually program robots and computers. we can show this in a set of instructions or in a flow chart. There are 4 main shapes that put together a flow chart along with the arrows. there is the terminator, this always comes first as it means the start of the instructions and the end. there is the decision box which can go anywhere but doesn't have to be a part of every flowchart. then there is the input/ out put box. this shows what is being inputted or outputted. then last there is the process box which is where the actual command is shown.

web design edit

designing a web page is easier than you think if you want you can use wix website builder which is super easy and fun to use and you can build a really professional website.[3] however, you can also use things such as codecademy to teach you the basics of coding. the different headings such as: https: <a> <ul> <ol> and src….. these are just some examples.

and finally...

app design edit

AppShed is an amazing website that we used to create our games. the apps need to be uncluttered easy to navigate and have a specific target audience. the app must have a need. you add buttons a description a name a thumbnail. the app looks really professional. you must think about customer specifications. first take the time to plan out each of the pages this includes the; splash page, icon, start page, Levels (optional), settings (optional) and sometimes a home page. you can upload images and text.it is super fun and easy and the out comes are really neat.
