- The English sub title means exactly what it sounds like, and is very straightforward; it's supposed to be easy to remember and sound cool. (ZUN says "There's no real deep meaning behind it" at least once in every segment in this video ... )
- There've been a number of Touhou games taking place underground before, and he'll probably do it again since "there's lots of interesting stuff about underground".
- Kisume is in katakana because it has an old Japanese feel to it, because it feels earthy, and because if he used kanji, it'd feel too strong for her
- Kurodani is a nice old-fashioned Japanese name, and Yamame more or less comes from the fact that spiders have eight eyes (me wa yattsu).
- Apparently there's some old word, or maybe a term that ZUN made up, hashihito, which refers to Persians. Parsee is a bridge princess (hashihime), so he thought it would be interesting to combine the two.
- The Yuugi section was rather revealing. Her image is all about an energetic, really strong oni, her not spilling her drink is "kind of like Jojo", her outfit "looks like a gym uniform, and it'd be easy to do exercises in", and her skirt is semi-transparent.
