Generally speaking, good writing on Wikipedia is aimed at non-experts and non-enthusiasts. It assumes that the reader has a basic grasp of the English language, access to a dictionary, and little else. It does not assume the nationality, cultural background, familiarity with regional colloquialisms, or and most importantly, in depth knowledge of the subject. A useful way to think about good article writing, is that it is aimed at the English speaking little green men from Mars, who have come to the Earth and want a basic education in everything.
