Dr. Timothy Scott Murrell is the Potassium Program Director for the International Plant Nutritition Institute. He received his Bachelor of Arts (1986) and Master of Science (1991) degrees from Purdue University. He earned his Ph.D. in Soil Science at Texas A&M University in 1996. After graduation, Scott began his career as the Northcentral Director for the Potash & Phosphate Institute and served in that same capacity when that organization transformed into the International Plant Nutrition Institute in 2007. In 2016, he was appointed the Potassium Program Director. In that capacity, he is working with IPNI’s global network of scientists to identify and address key limitations to proper potassium nutrition of agricultural crops.
