Domesticated animals edit

Domestic animals are used by humans and have been bred by humans, for meat, fur, companionship, and other uses. There are over 1000 breeds of dogs, cats, pigs, horses, goats, and other domestic animals.

Dog breeds edit

There are known to be over 500 breeds of dog, some common, some rare, some endangered, and some extinct. Dogs have been used for herding (Collies and Sheepdogs), sledding (Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes), hunting (Basset Hounds and Beagles), retrieving/tolling (Retrievers and Spaniels), racing (Greyhounds), companionship (King Charles Spaniels and Pugs), guarding property, herds, and people (Pinschers and Komondors), dog-fighting (Shar-Peis, Mastiffs, and Bulldogs), mountain rescue (Saint Bernards), pulling carts (Appenzeller Sennenhunds and Bernese Mountain Dogs), guiding for the blind (German Shepherd Dogs and Canaan Dogs), and many other uses.
