How to use edit
Place {{subst:User:Trevj/Templates/Template:WPCOMPtemp|Yourname}} onto the new member's talk page.
For example, if CharlesBabbage was to place this template he would place {{subst:User:Trevj/Templates/Template:WPCOMPtemp|CharlesBabbage}} onto the new member's talk page.
Note: I propose placing this template (or an adaptation of it) at {{WikiProject Computing/Welcome}} and listing at WP:COMP/T. Being a member of WP:RISCOS, I'm also interested in incorporating optional parameters for task forces/sub-projects. Maybe that strikethrough suggestion would be better handled by the Projects' own templates, with a link to the parent project: users could conceivably join sub-projects/task forces without joining the parent project itself.
