Dphoto (stylized as DPHOTO and pronounced "dee-photo") is an image hosting and video hosting website, and uploading suite that was created by Henry Dawson in 2004, based in Melbourne, Australia. Photos and videos can be accessed from DPHOTO created sites without the need to register an account but an account must be made in order to upload content. Registering an account creates users a personal webpage (username.dphoto.com) containing photos and videos that the user has uploaded.

DPHOTO founder Henry Dawson first identified the opportunity for online photo sharing and backup while backpacking around the world in 2002 and 2004. Henry created his own online travelogue "Escape Route" while travelling. Returning to Melbourne in 2004, Henry started DPHOTO, which he has been developing ever since.

Accounts edit
DPHOTO offers two types of account; Premium and Standard. Each account begins as a 14-day trail where all features of the chosen account are available. Both account types allow up to 100MB images and 10 minute videos, with the standard account allowing 50GB storage and the premium account coming with 100GB storage. [1]
Organisation edit
DPHOTO uses hierarchal folder and album structure. Folders contain albums and other folders; albums contain photos and videos. Photos can be assigned tags, which allow a user to organise photos and videos by subject. These tags are searchable in the gallery.

Director is the online uploading suite where users upload files.

Gallery is the users personal site (username.dphoto.com) where visitors can see public content.
