Brand CommunityThomas Clayton Gibson O'Guinn is an American professor of Marketing and the Thomas J. Falk Distinguished Chair in Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is best known for his work on brand community with Albert Muniz. Brand Community has become a common term in both marketing practice and scholarship. His work is generally sociological, but is not tied to any one particular methodology. He has won (with Albert Muniz) the Journal of Consumer Research Long-Term Contribution Award (awarded in 2014), Best Contribution to Consumer Research, 2001 (awarded 2004), and Co-Winnder (with Ronald J. Faber), of Best Contribution to Consumer Research, 1997 (awarded 2000). He is the lead author of Advertising and Integrated Brand Promotion, now in its 8th. edition. He was appointed by the U.S. Secretary Of Agriculture in 2017 to the USDA Cranberry Marketing Committee.
