I'm a social scientist by training, with a doctorate in women's studies from Emory University and a master's of information science from the University of Michigan in the School of Information. I'm the author of Living for the Revolution: Black Feminist Organizations, 1968-1980 (Duke University Press, 2005). I've edited Still Lifting, Still Climbing: African American Women's Contemporary Activism (New York University Press, 1999) and co-edited Stories of O: the Oprahfication of American Culture (University of Mississippi Press, 2010). I acquire, preserve and archive oral histories for the Oral History Archives at Columbia.
