The Magallanes, Cross or Magellan's Cross (Tagalog: Krus ni magellan ) is a Christian Cross Where Fernando Magellan, a Portuguese and Spanish Explorer, make a cross when they reach the island of Cebu, Philippines on March 15 1521.

History edit

The Cross is inside of a Chapel Beside Basilica Minore del Santo Niño in Magallanes street, in front of the Cebu City Centre. In a note under the cross are information that the Original Cross was inside of the wooden cross on the center part of the Chapel. this is a protection for the cross from the people trying to cut the part of the cross. this is a protection too from the people want to take or steal it to be souvenir or other causes.

But, Some of its original parts has been destroyed or missing after magellan's death and the cross is a replica of the cross when the Spanish Empire Completely control the Philippines.[1]
