Good Day! I'm TheHurricaneExpert. I absolutely love to study and analyze tropical cyclones of past and current. My favorite thing about tropical cyclones is their size and unbelievable power. My interest in cyclones started back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Louisiana. Looking at the aftermath made me realize just how incredible storms of that magnitude can be. You really just need to experience it first hand to understand the raw power of a hurricane. From that day in August of 2005, I started to research and look into past hurricanes. Mainly their intensity and track. First starting with the Atlantic hurricanes of the 1930s, then going to the whole history of the basin, then eventually studying the Pacific Basin's hurricanes, then to the West Pacific and Australian Region, and finally to the North and Southwest Indian Basins. I use to and still continue to use Wikipedia for my tropical cyclone information! That's about it for my story. If you would like to see more of my daily weather life and weather history in general, you can follow me on Instagram at @historical_meteorology. Thanks! -TheHurricaneExpert_05
