H Muzakir Manaf (born in Seunudon, North Aceh, Aceh, April 3, 1964; 54 years old) are GAM fighters. He had served as Commander of the Free Aceh Movement. He once served as Deputy Governor of Aceh.

Background edit

His name Muzakir Manaf, but ordinary Acehnese greet this man as Mualem. During the Aceh war, Mualem title pinned to someone who has a high knowledge of military science, which has the ability to train its troops. In peacetime now, Acehnese had also mentioned Muzakir Manaf as Mualem. Of course, the nuance is no longer associated with the military problems, but as a greeting of honor, not only for former combatants of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) but also by the people of Aceh more.

At the Regional Head Election (Pemilukada) 2012 Aceh, the Aceh Party-as the largest party in Aceh carrying Muzakir Manaf as vice governor of Aceh from 2012 to 2017, with dr. Zaini Abdullah, a former foreign minister of GAM, which carried the Aceh Party as a candidate for Governor. Muzakir Manaf himself also served as Commander of GAM, replacing Teungku Abdullah Syafi'ie who died on January 22, 2002.

After the Helsinki Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 15 August 2005, GAM's military wing was dissolved, and then a KPA (Aceh Transition Committee) was formed as a transitional forum for former GAM combatants to ordinary civil society. Since it was first established in 2005 until now, Mualem has served as Chair of KPA. At the same time also the Chairperson of the Aceh Party, from 2007 until now.

In his campaign speech, Muzakir Manaf promised if he won to become the deputy governor of Aceh. He will give the money 1 million per family of Acehnese and Muzakir Promised to provide compensation Conflict Victims Orphans by 10 Million per Month.

Although currently it has been directly involved in politics, but unlike most other politicians, Mualem is known as a person who does not speak much. "I do not want to make the Acehnese people confused, so to speak a sure-for sure," he said on one occasion. Mualem was born in Seuneudon, North Aceh in 1964. He had been involved in the Aceh struggle with GAM from a young age. From 1986 to 1989, along with several other Acehnese young men, Mualem was sent to Libya to attend military education at Tajura cAMP. While there, he was also entrusted with being the guardian of Muammar Ghadafi.

When he returning to Aceh, just like other GAM combat, Mualem fled from the forest to another forest. Location existence he is so difficult to detect by security forces. At that time, the security forces had several times announced that Muzakir Manaf had been killed, but in fact Mualem then appear elsewhere in a fit and healthy condition.

Now GAM's armed struggle is over. But through political struggle for justice and the welfare of the people of Aceh are still being conducted, by the Aceh Party. Mualem invite the community to join together in the fight sequence. "Let's all be with us, the Aceh Party does not discriminate between ethnic groups," said Muzakir Manaf.
