Gripple is a registered trademark of the Gripple Company for a patented mechanical device used to connect wires and hold them tight.
Function edit
The gripple is used to hold together two wires as an alternative to tying.
Mechanism edit
Each gripple has two ball bearings, with springs pushing them at an angle against the wires. When the wires are inserted, the force of the insertion moves the ball bearings back, allowing them to slide freely. When the wires are release, and try to pull out, the ball bearings are forced against the wires, stopping them.
Use edit
The largest fence in the world, the Dingo Fence, is held together by Gripple's.[1]
