SuperChencho, the Hero of Lights, (also known by his abbreviation, SCh) is a fictional character from the Wikipedia community. He made his first appearance as an editor in July 2007, but was already quite fond of the website since 2006, when he discovered the reliability and accuracy of the free encyclopedia. Since then he has sought to make the most of his discovery, editing and helping to make Wikipedia a better place for all.

Smash World Forums edit

Originally, SuperChencho sought notability in the Smash World Forums, otherwise known as Smashboards. He wanted to voice his opinions on several subjects and get involved, but as time went on, he constantly butted heads with the administration. SWF is notable for its elitism and its bias against Christians, which personally affected SCh. When it became apparent that SWF had ceased to be entertaining and was filled with pseudo-philosophers who only sought higher knowledge (and thus close topics the administrators deemed "spam"), SCh left in a self-imposed exile.

SCh wandered the Internet looking for a new place to call "home," though he met little success and was left to periodically visit official websites of videogames and movies, which quickly became outdated and abandoned.

Wikipedia edit

SCh unadvertedly stumbled upon Wikipedia as he looked for sources of information on the Internet about various topics. Not knowing the nature of the site, he would use it as an authority in such things as school assignments. His innate curiosity led him to test the extent of the site's fields of knowledge, searching from videogames to anime to American Television. Wikipedia quickly became his favorite website; he often cites it in conversations, though he is often met with skepticism by those who believe that the site cannot be trusted face value. Whenever doubt would arise over the nature or origin of something, he will look to the website first before trying anything else. He was intrigued by the ability to add content to these articles, but he kept shy from it. He eventually "dipped his feet in the water," doing minor typo corrections and the like. His first foray in the Wikipedian community was when he joined the WikiProject Pokėmon, as the subject is one of his greatest passions (he owns 13 Pokėmon games from various game systems).

Videogames edit

SuperChencho is an avid fan of videogames, more especifically Nintendo consoles and handhelds (he is, however, not a fanboy necessarily, but he has been inclined this way since childhood; he has lightened up somewhat and is open to play games in other consoles). He has amassed a modest collection of games for his N64, GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, and Nintendo GameCube. He plans someday to buy a DS and a Wii but is patiently waiting for price drops. This has been his policy for games, as well, as he often buys games used rather than new.

YouTube edit

SCh is also a frequent user of YouTube, and when he is not in Wikipedia, he can be found there under his alias as the HeroOfLights. He primarily logs on to watch anime clips that he has no access to otherwise. This has helped him to revisit familiar anime shows from his childhood, such as DragonBall. He also watches anime in Japanese with English subtitles, especially Yu-gi-oh! (which he believes to be better in its original version rather than the American).
