Xondro Sverko (born 31st Jan 1939) is a former Yugoslav football player, manager and director. Nicknamed the Sverko or the "slavic maestro" for his ability to header the ball off all four corners of his head. Sverko is regarded as one of the greatest strikers of his time. He won the Kurac d'or 5 times and came runner up twice. In his career Sverko played with F.C Xwriatovski and Chavapi F.C. scoring over 50 goals a season four years in a row. His crowning moment however was winning the Kurac cup with Red Star Belgrade in 1966. Unfortunately his career took a steep downturn after a dispute with his club. It was reported at the time that Red Star rejected an offer of 17.4 billion kunars and 1000 copies of Titos biography from Real Madrid. Upon retirement Sverko turned to coaching. He was appointed manager of Djibouti and led them to back to back Isis cups. Sverko now lives in Monkeydonia where he is director of football at F.C Tetragonokefaloi.
