The object of joining this website is to correct, or assist in correcting, many errors on the Rory Ellinger page, some of which, this contributor asserts, are the misrepresentations, fabrications, exaggerations and deliberate falsehoods of a cunning politician with variable ethical standards. Most alarming and in such bad taste is the shocking immodest claim to have at one time been MLK's bodyguard, without any proof or objective verification at all from anyone. In August 2013, this question was raised on this Wiki website, but never answered or addressed. Ellinger had ample time to provide proof of this claim, but never did. This dubious allegation of being Dr King's bodyguard is often repeated on the Internet, including St Louis Public Radio, without one shred of objective evidence. Such is the state of the American profession of journalism. Who in their right mind would just accept something, anything, a politician says, without fact-checking, independent research and skepticism? Also of doubtful accuracy is the picketing of a Woolworth's in the 1950s. There was no Woolworths near Krogers in Old Orchard Webster Groves in the 1950s and certainly very very few negroes to picket. Webster Groves at that time was almost completely segregated and white. There were absolutely no black students at the Catholic Holy Redeemer Grade School and DeBourgh High School was very similarly segregated in the 1950s. There were no black parishioners at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Ellinger's parents and family did not approve or support Ellinger's aggressive and radical views. This person was no peace-maker and was prepared to tear people to shreds, including members of his own family, who did not agree with his angry leftist beliefs. He hated all forms of private schooling and resented that some children went to private schools. Although he acknowledges he was raised in a Catholic home, he later denied his childhood religion completely and became a radical, Marxist atheist. This is all reported only as an attempt to tell the truth and expose falsehoods, not just simple mistakes, but deliberate misrepresentations designed to create an effect, an image. This contributor has no axe to grind or hidden agenda and is not interested in 'slamming' anyone. Knowing the truth, as I do (sorry to use the first person), I have an obligation and duty to make it available to those who also love accuracy and honesty. I hope this serves the Wiki mission well and is not deleted for policy reasons. Thanks for reading.Spinspotter41941 (talk) 23:47, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[1]
