Spelledgeary

My name is Andrew Geary and I live and work in New Orleans, LA. While I am quickly learning Wikipedia, and specifically the MediaWiki platform, I am open to helpful suggestions and tips to get new users hooked on contributing to Wikipedia and the SEG Wiki in particular. I have a masters in public administration from Indiana University-Bloomington and have extensive volunteer engagement experience but not specifically focused on engaging volunteers in a contributory way online.

My growing interests include open data and open government. I would like to learn more and contribute to these articles in Wikipedia, as well as those that focus on nonprofit management and policy. I will be attending the Semantic MediaWiki conference in Montreal in May. Let me know if you will be there as well!
