Outline space is a space reserved to the hierarchical organisation of the mainspace of wikipedia.
An outline or hierarchical outline is a list of items arranged to show their hierarchical relationships.
In academic or scientific research paper writing, authors often use outline to visualize or plan the logical flow of a paper or argument. Outlines are useful because they:
- help the writer organize thoughts before getting bogged down in word choice and sentence structure;
- show which ideas need illustration or elaboration; and
- help the writer decide on an organizational technique, such as chronology, categorization, expository writing based on a thesis, or other logical presentation.
