The Skynyrd Brothers band was a rock n roll band founded by Bob Burns of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Randall Wallace 2004 in Cartersville, Georgia.
Bob Burns met Randall Wallace at a Cartersville Huddle House in 2004 while the two of them were eating dinner there.
Bob Burns was shocked that after he announced who he was that Randall Wallace asked to see his drivers license to prove it. Bob would tell the story as the first time he ever had to prove who he was.
The two would later form a fast friendship thru Randall Wallace's extensive knowledge of Lynyrd Skynyrd history and every song the band ever wrote.
Bob Burns use to tell people "Randy knows more about Lynyrd Skynyrd than I do and I was in it for 10 years!"
Randall Wallace, who was born and raised in Pensacola Florida grew up with musicians as child to an adult and Lynyrd Skynyrd was the primary focus of their musical background. In June 2005 Randall Wallace assembled a group of his childhood friends, Doug Wilkerson, Donnie Wilkerson, and Tommy Wilkerson from Pensacola along with Bob Burns on drums and his son Paul Wallace and they performed for a private party for 3 days in Cartersville, Georgia.
The band performed 27 Lynyrd Skynyrd classics.
It was during this show that word got out about the new venture and club owners were requesting the band play their clubs. On June 24th 2005 The Skynyrd Brothers band performed their first club show at "McVoreens Irish pub" in downtown Cartersville Georgia to a sold out crowd. The band was later booked to play at "The Alley" in Cartersville in late July 2005. Bob once again got nervous because things were moving to fast for him and causing him bad flashbacks and resigned. This was two days before the show. The show had to be cancelled.
