User:Siroxo/Crystal ball verifiability

Most of the time, basic facts about a published work are implicitly verifiable to that work as a primary source. The item been published, and in the vast majority of cases, there is no question as to such facts. Examples include title, author, track listing, publication date, credited cast and crew, etc.

However, for unpublished works, this is not the case. There is no published primary source to rely on for verification.

All facts for not-yet-published works should be verified by reliable sources.

This requires including appropriate citations and references.

Prereleases edit

For prereleases, preprints, prescreenings, non-public beta copies, etc, if you intend to rely on implicit verification of facts, consider it a separate related work. Be sure:

  1. If challenged you should are able to verify.
  2. The article makes it clear the fact is about a pre-release.
