SCREAMS FOR TINA is a dark, sometimes atmospheric, alternative rock band playing in a range of music best described as a melding of Post Punk, Deathrock and Gothic influences.

The band was formed in Los Angeles, CA in 1985 by MARVIN RINNIG( guitar) and WARREN MANSFIELD( vocals, bass, guitar). An EP entitled "Strobelight Funeral" was recorded in 1986 and became a featured item on local underground college radio and found favor with international distrubutors. Soon joined by English bassist BILLY BUDD and local drummer BOBBY DRIER, the band beacame a fixture on the late 8o's LA music scene and were regular performers at infamous underground scene clubs i.e., THE KRYPT, ZOMBIE ZOO, HAPIHAUS, SCREAM, HELTER SKELTER... as well as on the stages of World Famous venues such as THE ROXY and WHISKEY AU-GO-GO.

Where most bands in the underground scene were limited to playing gigs with bands of the same genre; Screams For Tina was able to bring their brand of hard-hitting darkness to fans outside the deathrock arena; often sharing bills with the likes of X and (pre-stardom) JANE'S' ADDICTION. The band received glowing reviews, not only in genre related fanzines, but also legitimate publications (i.e.) ALTERNATIVE PRESS, MUSIC CONNECTION, The HERALD EXAMINER and were repeatedly listed as "Deathrock Kingpins" in L.A.'s entertainment bible: THE L.A. WEEKLY. In a multi-paged article on the Deathrock scene in USA TODAY, Screams For Tina was listed alongside THE CURE, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES and BAUHAUS as one of the top bands to listen to.
