Farhan Reza has been in the Media Industry for the past 24 years as a print and broadcast journalist and served national and international portfolios in various stages of my career. His extensive and diverse experience in the field has made him proficient in leading a channel to rank amongst top positions and maintaining its ranking at those positions ahead of other competitors.

He had started his career from an Urdu Newspaper, Daily Awam, but soon moved to Financial Post as a reporter and worked there for around 6 years (from 1995 to 2000). After Financial Post, He had joined Business Today, a business newspaper launched by the Express Media Group.

In Decemebr 2001, Farhan Reza joined Daily Times as a reporter in the Karachi Bureau. He had joined as a Business Reporter but soon moved to the political beat. During this time, He covered the MQM Altaf and Haqiqi controversy and high profile court cases like Asif Zardari’s trial were also assigned to him. After working in the Daily Times for around two years, Farhan Reza joined Geo News as a business reporter. He worked as a business reporter for two years and then moved on to ARY News followed by Aaj News Channels. He worked in both channels as a senior producer and shift in-charge.

On 1 Jan 2007, Farhan Reza joined back Geo News as a senior producer and Editor. He was soon assigned to their upcoming channel Geo News English. For this assignment he was given extensive training by international journalists. His training continued for three months and included learning to manage a newsroom and producing news bulletins. He was promoted to executive producer. Geo English closed down after a year and a half, and few months after Dawn English also changed into Dawn Urdu, Farhan Reza moved back to Urdu News Channels. He worked in Dunya News. In 2011, Farhan Reza joined ARY News as an Executive Producer and worked there for six years. When He joined the channel was not among top 5 but during his tenure He led it to become a top news channel. He led the news room to cover major national events such as National Elections 2013, PTI Dharna, Zarb e Azb, APS attack, Karachi Airport Attack, and MQM controversy.

His various roles in key leadership positions have helped him become an expert at recognising individual strengths and working towards building his team professionally through mentoring. He believes in leading by example and working in collaboration to achieve common goals. As a team leader He has the ability to build on strengths.

An area He excel in is developing news stories to become the leading news at the national level. He has written and published numerous articles in The News International, Daily Times, Herald, Himal International & Financial Post. He has also established his credentials as an analyst and commentator on national and international politics and business on both News channels and news papers.

Having a proactive approach He enjoys taking on a challenge. His strong critical thinking and effective communication skills help him construct and manage arguments efficiently and his strong negotiation skills have enhanced my ability to recognise and solve problems. His broad experience in the field has honed my abilities of self-management, carrying out personal reflection, time management and organization.
