The arts refers to the theory, human application, and physical expression of creativity found in human cultures and societies through skills and imagination in order to produce objects, environments, and experiences through visual elements, the written word, performance, or a combination of multiple of these elements. From prehistory to modern times, the arts have always served as a vessel for telling stories and communicating mankind's relationship with the environment. Included below are:

  • Basic overviews and outlines related to the arts;
  • Articles on museums and other cultural venues; and
  • Articles on characters and locations in fictional works spanning various media.

The major constituents of the arts all have their own sublists, including: architecture; literary arts (fiction, drama, poetry, and prose); music; other performing arts (i.e., dance and theater); the other visual arts (ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, and sculpting); and films and filmmaking.

This user-made vital articles sublist includes 590 subjects related to arts topics which do not specifically pertain to any of the above sublists for which I personally believe the English Wikipedia should have corresponding articles. Articles are labeled based on their quality as outlined below.
