I'm a 24 year old medical student in Belgrade.
I believe that peace is only possible on the Balkans if our people changes: edit
1.) We Serbs must confront our war past in the same way that the Germans did after WWII. a) We must accept the fact that Serbia even before WWII was very antisemitic and killed more Jews than the Croats during WWII.
2.) We Serbs must abolish the idea that all Serbs should be living in the same country - because this is similar to Hitlers idea that all Germans should live in one country.
3.) We Serbs must take the responsibility for the war in former Yugoslavia and pay war damages like the Germans did.
4.) All Hungarian and Croatian refugees from Vojvodina must be invited back.
5.) We Serbs must stop dreaming of Yougoslavia and stop trying to assimilate Croatians as "Yugoslavs" (for many just a synonyme for Serbs. I call my mothertongue Serbian. The so called "serbo-croatian" was an artificial creation during Yugoslavia times.
I think Serbia proper is big and nice enough and we can live with our neighbours in peace if we leave them alone.
The biggest problem in Serbia is corruption edit
I believe that a foreign comission is the only way to wipe out corruption and Mafia in Serbia.
