General edit

I am United States Naval Officer with a PhD in Environmental Chemistry. While the main focus of my research is in Atmospheric Chemistry, my day job is as a tropical cyclone forecaster and computational modeler. I enjoy studying mathematical constants, programming and parallel computing and chemistry in general. I make edits to pages regarding these interests, as well as others I find interesting. I think that Wikipedia is an incredibly valuable tool, and enjoy helping the community make it better.

My Studies edit

I currently conduct research using the WRF modeling suite to predict volcanic ash plume development and transport in the atmosphere. I have parameterized the inclusion of sulfur dioxide conversion near the Upper Troposphere Lower Stratosphere (UTLS) and my doctoral thesis was on the inclusion of volcanic ash aggregation in this model. This research provides many advantageous results, mostly benefiting the aerospace industry and military.
