Rosie Lopez Schlereth Rosie Lopez Schlereth (Arizona 1942) Is the ex-wife of Emigdio Vasquez, an American artist and muralist. Author of Hi My Name is Chicken- Autobiography The Lopez Family The Burgos Family by Rosa Gloria Burgos Lopez-Vasquez-Acosta-Schlereth-Chicken. Also, My Married Life With Emigdio Chavez Vasquez Painter/Muralist.

Early life

Born in Yuma Arizona in the World War Two era. Lived in rural Somerton AZ in her early life, then family moved to Anaheim CA and settled in Barrio La Conga. Also lived part of her early life in the Lemon Migrant Camp (Also called a labor camp by the Escondido Lemon Association) in Escondido CA. Attended segregated, La Palma Mexican School, Horace Mann Elementary School, Fremont Jr High and Anaheim Union High School. Attended the Mexican Baptist Church in Anaheim Ca. In her autobiography, "Hi My Name is Chicken," Rosie brings to the reader the vivid life, of what it was like to live in Barrio La Conga, Anaheim CA, life at the Lemon Migrant Camp, in Escondido CA, era 1945-1948 and also Emigdio's early family life.

Personal life

Married Emigdio Vasquez 1959, mother of his children. Our children are very talented, at the age of 17, my son, Emigdio Carlos Vasquez was in the 1985 movie, "Breakin' 2:Electric Boogalou," as a break dancing performer, "Master Flash." My daughter, Rosemary Vasquez Tuthill, and my son, Emigdio Carlos Vasquez "Higgy," were in an art show with their father, Emigdio Vasquez Sr. The art show, 'Detras de Las Cortinas,' Chicano artworks at Cal State Fullerton's Grand Central Art Center in Santa An Ca. September 4th through October 17, 2010.
