Hi, I live in County Cork in Ireland. My main Wikipedia interest is modern history, specifically that of Europe from 1600.
I'm a long-time Wikipedia reader but only occasional contributor. My contributions are mostly minor edits - spelling or grammar corrections and rewrites for readability (over time, some pages get badly hacked around by multiple edits). When I have the necessary documentary backup, I correct factual errors. I haven't yet attempted a page of my own - being put off by the investment in time required to properly maintain a page and secondly, the learning-curve of the opaque mark-up used in Wikipedia.
A particular interest of mine is comparing Wikipedia pages in different languages, to gain a better view of a subject: they tend to differ a lot from each other when it comes to perspectives on historical events.
