Kate Mulgrew edit

Kate Mulgrew's official website is on the Infobox. I did not see the point of duplicating the link to her website when it was clearly referenced in the Infobox at the top of the page.--Tovojolo 09:15, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

My edit of Gold Rush edit

In regard to me editing the Gold Rush article, I was actually fixing a vandalism, if you had even bothered to read what I deleted, you would have recognized the poor grammar and the local bias.

You deleted a whole paragraph. Here is the differential which shows the paragraph your edit deleted and that I restored. Ronbo76 22:08, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
If your intent was that is written poorly, you should attempt to fix the paragraph. The worst thing to do is just delete it without indicating what your intent in Edit summary at the bottom of the edit window. My comment or edit summary will be: paragraph may need work. That tells another editors why you did what you did. Ronbo76 22:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Here is what you are missing. Please see this linked article on Bodie, California. That's why I as an editor restored the passage. It has a link and pictures which you are probably unfamilar with. I am part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ghost towns and WP:CAL. You can see my project tags on my userpage User:Ronbo76. I will restore the paragraph after reworking it a bit. If you want to delete content, it is best to discuss deletion prior on the article's talkpage: Talk:Gold rush. I hope this all helps. Cheers, Ronbo76 22:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the assist. Please look at the article you helped today. I would encourage to continue reading articles here and to register as user. Thanks again, Ronbo76 22:42, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

(Note: due to this user's input, his good faith warning was stricken. Ronbo76 22:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC))

Well-intended helpers always seem to show up edit

We've had them before, we'll have them again - patience is a virture, I'm told! NorCalHistory 22:50, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Check his contribs, this is what he (and others) spend their time doing. Oh, well. BTW, I see our first vandal has showed up. We're going to start running into edit conflict issues pretty quick as the vandal traffic starts in earnest. I'm going to leave vandal correction to you and others (thank you!) - but if it is well-intended substantive edits (like the one we've been talking about), if you could give me first crack at those, that would be appreciated! If I'm going to go "off-watch" I'll let you know. Buckle up and strap in! NorCalHistory 22:59, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Feeling a bit like Luke Skywalker? Zap! Zap-zap! Thanks . . . —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NorCalHistory (talkcontribs) 00:37, 14 February 2007 (UTC).

Someone is creating re-directs to Jimmy Wales edit

I've deleted one. I'll have a look around for more. -- Longhair\talk 02:58, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

My multiple edits/reverts to California Gold Rush edit

California Gold Rush is a Featured Article and taking vandal hits. Please excuse me and my edits, please. Ronbo76 04:47, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I'm back edit

Thanks, Ronbo - I just stepped away for a bit, and now I'm back ... (extracting lightsaber . . .). NorCalHistory 04:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Just out of curiosity, how much long are going to be around lending your excellent hand on this? I'm expecting I'll be here at least 2-4 hours from now. NorCalHistory 05:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Got your message - yep gotta be fresh to keep swinging away! NorCalHistory 06:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
And just as I was beginning to think that it was the Force keeping them away! NorCalHistory 06:16, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Did we just go a full half-hour without a single "little helper"? Boy, we're better than I thought! NorCalHistory 07:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Good luck and good night, and thanks! NorCalHistory 07:50, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Changes and Consensus edit

Thank you Ronbo 76, now how can I seek this "consensus" regarding improvements to this(B.Hope) an other articles. Do you simply state your ideas, back it up with facts then ask for a vote or something else?(I'm not being condescending, I just want to really know how this truly works?)Micael 06:38, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Woops, I'm sorry Ronbo. Thanks for moving my message. I'm having a tough time getting familiar with how all this works.

Sunsweet in Central Valley edit

I dunno, it feels like borderline overly-commercial link, but I'll leave it up to others to challenge! NorCalHistory 07:59, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Feature page edit

Since when? --Michael Johnson 11:48, 14 February 2007 (UTC) Are you saying that feature articles should not be edited? Because this is news to me = I am involved with several featured articles that are constantly edited. As for my edit, it is one sentence, fully referenced, and relevent to the paragraph to which it has been added. Cheers, --Michael Johnson 11:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Can you please provide references to these Wikipedia principles. I was just being wp:bold --Michael Johnson 12:01, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Please be bold, and look up them up yourself. Respectfully, Ronbo76 12:03, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, don't see a problem. One sentence attached to and relevent to a paragraph does not affect stability. I do agree the previous Hargraves paragraph (which btw I don't think appropiate) would have added substantially, and pushed the article off on a bit of a tangent. My edit was in responce to that para, and an effort to incorporate an important, if minor, point within the appropiate section of the aticle. --Michael Johnson 12:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Never visited. Anyway, I don't like to keep personal info on my talkpage, so I'm going to delete the section if you don't mind :-) Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:41, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Not a problem. Ronbo76 14:44, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm back edit

Just checking in to keep up the good fight! NorCalHistory 16:01, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

I could use a rest. I've been at it for awhile and the dust on the article is gathering. Ronbo76 16:02, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Hayek edit

Ref #5 does list a comment attributed to Hayek. I think one can argue Ramtha claims her as a student. Xiner (talk, email) 16:55, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Chicks: The Bush-Texan passage edit

I'm confused as to what happened to the conversation in this section - I asked a simple Q and there were responses that seem unrelated to that. Why is the IP editor talking about quotes and wikipedia style? Huh? Do you know what's up with this? ZueJaytalk 16:59, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm on that big copyedit edit

As I'm reading through it, most of these seem friendly - a few diffs in reference philosophy - but not a big revert. NorCalHistory 17:13, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

The recent changes in the refs are all good to stay. NorCalHistory 17:29, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I am back with you. Do you watch my talkpage? Ronbo76 17:34, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Great suggestion - Under these combat conditions, I've put your talk page on my watch list, so we can converse here! NorCalHistory 17:57, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
That last change (explicitly explaining what "Forty-Niner" refers to - see Wikipedia:Paris is in France!) was actually a good suggestion, but it should probably be in the regular part of the text, and not in the lead. I'll follow up with that one (among others) after the article's off the Main page. NorCalHistory 19:03, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
No prob - I've unwatched your page. Horatio was a hero! NorCalHistory 19:11, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I'll chat with Nygaard separately regarding his thinking about the number change. I'm sure that this is well-intended/good faith. I'll ask him to go over his thinking in the next day or so. NorCalHistory 19:34, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Good faith edits to California Gold Rush edit

Hello, could you please hold off on edits to this article? It has had substantial review all this week prior to being a Featured Article. Please see the history diffs as noted members of the WP:CAL project, etal have looked at the article from top to bottom. Thanks, Ronbo76 04:00, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Here are the history diffs. User:NorCalHistory did a substantial copyedit followed by a member of the copyedit committee. User:SandyGeorgia, one of the Featured Articles committee has done edits prior to it becoming Featured. Of course, after reading this, you can do edits but I would ask you to wait a day or so. Thanks, Ronbo76 04:07, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
That is an unacceptable request. It is normal and proper for articles to be heavily edited while they are featured on the main page, and all articles must stand on their merits at all times. Wilchett 19:41, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Your Stern Show recommendations edit

First off, thanks for the peer review on The Howard Stern Show article. However, I don't understand your request in the todo section of, get at least two reliable sources for the general article. Do you mean get two cites for each fact? Or are you talking about a specific section? LilDice 13:22, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

lol woops, sorry for putting that comment on your user page...still on my first cup of coffee :) LilDice 13:31, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Continuing good faith tinkering on California Gold Rush edit

I see other folks have chimed in as well, tinkering with the language. These are the kinds of changes that I'm prepared to let stand. I'll look at the article in a couple of weeks, and get out the sandpaper at that point! Thanks again! NorCalHistory 12:43, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Award Proposal edit

Why don't you make the image in the shape of a star? Look at the other awards for guidance. --evrik (talk) 21:33, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

  • That second idea, with the bear and big star, IS GREAT! —ScouterSig 21:50, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Get the nomenclature right. If you're propsing a WP Award, it is NOT a barnstar. --evrik (talk) 22:01, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  • If it's a topic related award for the Barnstar Page, then it should be a barnstar. If it is meant for the WP, then it is a WP Award. --evrik (talk) 22:08, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
If you had bothered to read the re-write, you would see that my intent to give it to California related articles as a barnstar. The second proposed California Barnstar is for all California related articles and the text had been reworked to reflect that intent. Instead of opposing me, help me. Ronbo76 22:11, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Okay I may have misread your proposal ... Please rewrite them ... one note ... if they're not star shaped. They won't pass, and the likelyhood of getting a barnstar approved is not too good. Shoot for one award for all the WikiProjects. It will achieve the same thing. --evrik (talk) 22:14, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Nope, I didn't read it wrong. If you want to, change it back to a barnstar proposal and it will surely get defaeted ... both on the scope and the image. As a WP Award it will surely be approved, but only after you approve the image. Did I mention that I'm a member of WP:CAL? --evrik (talk) 22:18, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
    • As I said, I went back and read it again. There is no single statae that has a barnsatr. It will generate opposition. Go for the WP Award, make it in the shape of a star and READ what people are saying. --evrik (talk) 22:34, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the info on my talk page. I don't think I tagged it for being fake or non-notable, but for no context. And after reading a couple of more times, I still have no idea what they're talking about. Is it an English sentence? --Proofreader J-Man 07:13, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Are you familar with this article Pemberton Township High School edit

Hello, I saw your edit on Pemberton Township High School. Another user, who blanked his talkpage, did some unsourced edits to that article. User:Christian15's edits look like vandalism to me. Would you please look at the article and edit it? Thanks, Ronbo76 06:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

  • It seems that this user cut and pasted information from the school's New Jersey School Report Card. I'm not sure what the copyvio issues might be, but the information is all available via the links already present and the info has already been removed. Alansohn 07:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
