About RonCram edit

I am a lifelong resident of southern California and earned my Master's Degree in 1983. I work as an executive in a service industry and enjoy life with my wife and children.

Interests edit

Sports and politics are interesting diversions for me. I am an avid reader and enjoy history and researching news and political events. I believe clear definitions and clear speaking are essential to clear thinking. I am interested in science and separating good science (and reliable conclusions) from bad science (and unreliable conclusions).

Interest in Wikipedia edit

I have enjoyed reading Wikipedia for some time and have found the majority of articles to be well-researched and well-written. When it comes to political articles, objectivity is more difficult to find. I would like Wikipedia to establish a well-earned reputation for accuracy and objectivity and believe my interest in fact checking can be of service.

I also believe the "Discussion" section is the best place to discuss whether a statement in an article is objective or biased. If a charge of bias is raised and supported by evidence, that comment should not be deleted by other users. It may be impeached or debunked by other evidence but should not removed from the discussion.

Working on a new outline edit

Looks interesting. I might want to use part (or all) of this at http://climateaudit101.wikispot.org/ ?
I'm sure KDP will welcome its publication with cries of joy {giggle}. Obstructive b*tch. Pete Tillman (talk) 19:31, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

California only? edit

Hi Ron! I'm about to fly to Miami for a 1 month research stay at UM. I know it's a long shot, but if you happen to be in the region, send me an email and I'll buy you a beer (or equivalent drink of your choice). It would be interesting to meet face to face.... --Stephan Schulz 00:22, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi Stephan, I would truly love that if I was in Florida. I have been to Miami several times, but I do not travel for business as much as I used to. If you ever come out to Southern Calif, let me know. RonCram 02:40, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Ok. The US West Coast is on my agenda for the future (I've been no futher west than Pittsburgh so far...), and I have some business invitations already. I might take those up in 2008. If yes, I'll remember you. --Stephan Schulz 02:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Saddam and Al Qaeda edit

I see you are not particularly active on Wikipedia now but that you've encountered significant opposition when you tried to bring that article toward a less POV than CSloat's absurd versions. I was about to start editing today but looked way back into the archives and am loathe to go down a road well travelled by you already. As it stands now it's horribly one sided but I just.... don't.... have the energy to take it on myself. Several sections of your proposed rewrite back in 2006 were dead on and I find the page's very existence absurd as that was never a stated rationale for the war- The JR states Saddam's support for international terrorism, his bounties to Palestinain suicide bombers (raised after 9/11) are well known but don't appear in the current article at all. Anyway you know all this and in the off chance you take on editing the article again we know how valuable consensus can be here. Feel free to contact me on my talk page and I'll stand behind a more centrist POV if you pursue that. (or on the GW issue as well, I think we see eye to eye there too) Wikipedia, what a mess.
