HARIRAJPUR There are big mounds found at village Harirajapur near Jatani of Delanga Block of puri district .These twin mounds are found to the north of the village Harirajapur and to the south of the famous Buddhist site Aragarh and Haripur .It is about 5 k.m forms Aragarh hill. The area between the mound and Aragarh being a lowly land, during rains these areas create illusion of the artificial lake. Like other mounds surface of this mound is also possessed with black ware, red gray ware. Besides this there are two sand stone slabs found lying into the east of the mound that bear the carving of a Buddhist chatri like feature. These two mounds covered approximately 200 square meters.

The mound of Kirkimundia and the mound of Aragarh hill have been identified with the Buddhist sculptures and found scattered on both the hills. Aragarh at Haripur panchayat in khurda district on the bank of river Daya is a Buddhist site .N.K Sahu suggest that Aragada could be the site where the Bhorasila,a very famous Buddhist monastery. In 1954 Buddhist icons of Vajrayana period were recovered from paddy field on the foot hill of Aragada.

The excavation at Harirajpur(Bang)near Jatani, of Khurdha district. The excavation was conducted jointly by K.K. Basa of the Anthropology Department of Utkal University, Vanivihar and Rabi Mohanty of Deccan College, Pune. The findings were encouraging skeleton chopped up below ken was found within habitation along with one female and child skeletons. The discovery and excavation of chalcolithic site at Harirajpur near Sisupalgarh opened up a new horizon in the field of chalcolithic research in costal Odisha and a new possibility about continuity and chronology of Odishan culture is envisioned.
