Professor A Marty is an internationally recognized expert in Tropical and Infectious Disease Medicine and Pathology, Emergency Preparedness, and the medical response to disasters. Dr. Marty is highly skilled at assessing needs and trends in the areas of biological infrastructure, research resources, and in education and training. She has helped develop and implement overall strategic planning and policy setting for the department of homeland security. She has provided leadership and guidance to division staff members; determined funding requirements and helped prepare and justify budget estimates, balance program needs, allocating resources, and overseen the evaluation of proposals and recommendations for awards and declinations. In addition to beng a world recognized expert researcher, anatomic and clinical pathologist, infectious disease pathologist, laboratory Inspector, educator, senior educational program developer, department head, and a Federal Officer she has a life long interest in world history and cultural anthropology. Professor Marty has published hundreds of peer reivewed journal articles, chapters, and books.
