I have to say your comments there were rather irrelevant. I was trying to show my own interests to prevent any sort of accusations, and I recommended that the article pass. GreenJoe 20:43, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

My comments are irrelevant, indeed I have no opinion on whether the article should be a GA or not. I can not stand by and let Essjay become a symbol of evil either, however. I feel obligated to defend him, for all he has done to help me, and to help Wikipedia. His was a thankless job, which he preformed very well. Prodego talk 20:47, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Checking in

Yeah, those things are annoying, but necessary due to the utter dumbness of the MediaWiki software. Apparently I'm not allowed to link my name to a redirect, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's done something like this (I think I got the idea from another admin). Alas, all is well here and thus I have nothing to complain about. How are things from your end? -Mysekurity 05:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

It's a bit weird having been here some two-and-a-half years, and being considered "senior". Wikipedia seems to survive through a cyclical process: new people come in, with lots of energy, become admins, burn out, and then leave, and new users come in to take their place. As the encyclopedia matures, it seems to have attracted a different set of people than the generation before, with their own ideas for how the encyclopedia should run. -Mysekurity 23:17, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah that would definitely be interesting. I have a little statistics experience, but no experience on how to scrape edits. I imagine something like this would track the number of edits, to article, WP pages, and others (taking into account when adminship was granted), and when the edits started slowing down. I don't think we can really find out the exact point of burnout, but we can see when things start dipping and such. The main problem would be the complexity, especially if we want a valid survey. But yeah, that would be kinda fun. -Mysekurity 04:57, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Chris' block

Sorry for any problems here, but the IP address was, in reality, me. I saw the edit and agreed with the version that has been used throughout all baseball player articles, and I made the revert from my laptop, not knowing that I hadn't logged in yet. After all, does it really make sense that Chrisjnelson would make one revert, log out to make another, then log back in to continue reverting?

For proof that the IP address was me, I always mark my edit summaries for reverting other users' edits with the template "Revert edit(s) by ___ - ___" which I used in this edit. Compare with [1] and [2]. Ksy92003(talk) 06:28, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
