Vandalproof applications

Hello Prodego. I am a bit concerned that applications for Vandalproof are given to to editors based on 250 edits. Wouldn't it be more prudent to add further limitations such as a clean block log (or at least no blocks for disruption over the last six months)? ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 15:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Snarry

My error; [1]. I'd better stop deleting for now and take a rest if I made a mistake like that. Acalamari 21:43, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Not a quick reply. :) I had already posted the message on your talk page before you posted your message. :) Anyway, I had seen the Snarry page become a blue link, and then I checked the history. I saw you had recreated the page, and realized I had made an error with the deletion. Not a huge error fortunately, but one that I shouldn't have been made in the first place; I mistook it for a blog or forum. As such, I'd better take a rest from deleting for now. My apologies. Acalamari 21:49, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
    • I see you've also already restored the history. Thanks for that, I was going to do it myself, but it seems that's unnecessary now. :) Acalamari 21:57, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Thanks! Much appreciated! :) Acalamari 22:09, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Rangeblocking

Sorry about that, I may have gotten a bit carried away. They were changing dates and numbers in ~15-20 articles and rarely using the same IP on the same article more than twice. If you are looking for other long rangeblocks, you may want to consider searching the depths of Special:Ipblocklist. I found 61.241.0.0/16 is blocked until March 1, 2008 for vandalbots. 71.155.0.0/16 until February 6, 2008 (with ACB) for {{anonblock}}, 4.159.0.0/16 until February 1, 2008 (also ACB and {{anonblock}}). I found them by searching lists of 5000 for "/1" with Google toolbar. There's a few on this page. Mr.Z-man 02:01, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

We do need some sort of policy or guideline on rangeblocks. (Discuss all on ANI before blocking perhaps?) Perhaps somebody with the initiative would be interested in drafting up a proposal. Mr.Z-man 02:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello to you too

Welll actually i do have a question. i was just gonna put it on the help page but since you offered help if i needed it....do i need to get permission from someone for a picture if i use a screenshot of a video? I mean since you usually use the printscreen button and then cut it out, doesnt that technically mean the picture becomes your own work? The juggreserection 13:49, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

well if you use that example, then the way i see it that would entitle the person who took the picture the copyright status to the picture taken, but not the painting. Right? the juggreserection 18:37, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

greetings from FROM THE SOUTH

hi, we are looking for a mentor in order to help us with some projects. The first assignment we have to make is about Wikipedia, we are required to describe what "templates" are, about "editing policies", what is a "stub" and how do we start new pages. Please contact us to our group page School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/From_The_South

LOS PANCAKES

Thanks a lot for being our mentor.... basically what we need is help in grmmar and spelling. We are going to write and modify two different articles from wikipedia. But these articles have to be related with Mexico, Our teacher said that a mexican knows a lot more about his country than a foreigner. This is why we are going to edit articles from wiki related with mexico.

lets keep in touch!

VandalProof Userlist

Hey there,

The VP userlist is currently corrupt, having being edited by a non-mod, but my connection issues with WP are bad enough that I can't save the page. Could you possibly take a moment to null edit it?

Cheers, Ale_Jrbtalk 16:51, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
