Sorry

I'm sorry for not being civil and for causing you hassle. Henchman 2000 19:10, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

The "tab"

Hello, Prodego! Thanks for your response to the VP thread on my coding incompetence. Because of my lack of understanding of JS, I can't tell which part of your monobook.js codes for the warning system. Could you help me out in finding it? Thanks in advance, PTO 01:15, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Eureka! It works! Thanks a lot. Cheers, PTO 01:44, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I found that a little bit of rogue CSS that I had added before was blocking the warnings drop down menu. Now it's fixed and operational. Thanks again for your help. PTO 01:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Almost there

Well, I decided to make a user page made of all pictures, and then put all the pictures together and link the certain ones I need to for a new user page. <a href="http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/8844/sunsetuserpageyk4.jpg">This</a>is what my page is supposed to be like. I divided it all up into sections so it would work out, and they can be found on my Sandbox. I have it perfect, except I cannot get them in the right spot, I have no idea what the code is to use to have an image be at the top, middle, or bottom of the page. If it's easy enough to just give me the three codes, just put them in my talk page and I'll see if I can make it, but if it's more complicated or something, could you code it so it looks right? As I said, all the images I uploaded are on my Sandbox. Thanks a lot, Coocooforcocopuffs 00:45, 13 January 2007 (UTC).

I think it would work good to position the images, I'm not completely sure what to do. Coocooforcocopuffs 01:02, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I uploaded the whole image with no links or anything, and that is at the bottom of my sandbox page, and I'm a little confused on what is supposed to happen now. Coocooforcocopuffs 03:29, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Alright, thanks a lotCoocooforcocopuffs 03:31, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

The code seems like it would work, except on the whole image when you roll over it with the mouse it goes to the text symbol(when typing the "double sided T") , and the link won't work. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the internet browser, but thats what I'm thinking what is wrong.

I figured it out, I just had to make it again so the text wasn't in the middle. The image works now, all I need is to link the pictures to the right pages, but I can't seem to do it. Do you know what to add to it for linking pictures to a different page? Thanks, Coocooforcocopuffs 05:42, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: Request for deleted articles

Thank you, and yes, I can meet all of those requirements. My site is another Wikia Wiki, so it will be easier to link back here, and license the text. --MasterA113 00:45, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

The Wiki is still in the request phase, but it's going to be called MemeWiki. If you'd prefer, I can wait until it's approved before you let me have the articles. --MasterA113 00:59, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
May I at least see the NEDM article? I agree with you about Brian Peppers, and my site is simply going to explain who he is, and how he became popular on the internet. But, I am curious about NEDM, and would like to see the serious article if it's not too much trouble. --MasterA113 02:20, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
It's all set my friend. Thanks a ton. --MasterA113 03:19, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Prodego. Thanks for your help with the John Gorenfeld article. However the text that you removed was not the same as the disputed text. It was a completely new article which had been written to replace it. There is also a dispute going out asking that the whole article be deleted. If there is no text for people to read it would be hard for them to know how to vote on this other thing. Thanks. Keep up the good work. Steve Dufour 05:17, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not overly concerned about the article in question (John Gorenfeld), but I'm quite curious about what you seem to be saying is a Wikipedia policy that makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm what might be called a "sophomore" on Wikipedia, not "experienced" yet but a little bolder than as a newcomer, so more likely to make mistakes, yet people think it's okay to bite me now since I'm no longer a newcomer. (I actually think this is a problem on Wikipedia; I almost quit as a result.) Anyway, you said the copyvio notice has to stay on the article for 7 days. Hypothetically, if a notice was placed just to hassle someone, or, alternatively - as seems to be the case with John Gorenfeld - a questionable allegation was rendered completly baseless by making a few changes the first day, how could anyone think that something constructive is to be gained by requiring a copyvio notice to remain in place for 7 days? I really am just curious about what seems to be a ridiculous rule, while most Wikipedia policies and guidelines seem to have been thoroughly discussed with very reasonable end results. If you'd like to point me to the rationale, or comment here (I'm "watching" the page for now) or on the Talk:John Gorenfeld page, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. -Exucmember 06:58, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree. Steve Dufour 17:10, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for the page, Diego Godoy (Talk to me =P) 15:23, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

repeated approvals (VP)

Looking at this page I'm surprised that several times it seems I'm approving the same user multiple times. But there's only one welcome message (and I only Update List after welcoming) for the users. What makes it even stranger is that the times are so spread out. Do you know what's going on? --frothT 20:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, most of the time I just open VP, add the users with more than 250, notify, hit Done in that window, Update list, Close, then exit VP. --frothT 20:16, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks; unfortunately popups no longer work! --frothT 22:28, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Nope :( --frothT 22:41, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Well when I revert your changes popups work, then I put your changes back and popups no longer work --frothT 22:58, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh never mind they work now o_O --frothT 22:59, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

From Bok269

Yes. Id really appreciate that. Bok269 20:54, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Sounds good. I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but when I do, I'll let you know. Bok269 02:42, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm interested in all three, but since I know how to edit the text, and I am no where near administrator ship, can you explain to me how fighting vandalism works within the wikipedia community (the task force, etc.) THanks!

Will do. Also, I have a lot of photos that I think could be a useful addition to Wikipedia. SHould I add them directly to Wikipedia or to Wikimedia Commons?

Sorry for the late reply, I've been on vacation. All the photos I want to upload are photos I have taken. Would I have to be concernec with fair use when uploading these?

Some are of natural things like mountains, national parks, etc. Others are pictures of cars and other random things I have come across in my travels.

Sorry its been a while ive been busy with work. Ill get on those photos when things slow down.

Thanks for all the help you gave me today

Seriously, thanks a lot, I feel so much more comfortable now :) -Painezor 02:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Unblocked Seand59

i. I unblocked this IP. It really was a Foundation staff member. Danny 19:59, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I thought you all might like to know that Seand59, who edited the Free Republic article a few hours ago (and was immediately blocked indefinitely for impersonating a Wikimedia staff member), is now known as Carolyn-WMF. Her account has been unblocked by Danny. She really does work for the Wikimedia Foundation.
The article at AmericanPolitics.com that was allegedly written by TJ Walker does not exist. Click on the link you provided. It's a blank page. I believe that Wikipedia has been the victims of a carefully crafted hoax. I contacted TJ Walker and asked him whether he authored the article. He said, "Of course not." He contacted AmericanPolitics.com and asked them to remove the article from their website. They complied immediately. Dino 21:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

No harm done. I actually thought it was kind of funny. Given the circumstances, you did the right thing too. :-) Danny 22:40, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

VandalProof

Didn't AmiDaniel tell you not to make minor edits to the user list? Any idea how to fix it without daniel's help? --frothT 22:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Ah, sorry. It looks at that page you tried to fix. --frothT 00:40, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

User talk:tellyaddict

Hi there, I think you accidentaly left a message on my User talk page and I think it was meant to be on Froths page, anyway I forgive you. Tellyaddict 22:23, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I noticed you added a speedy tag to it, I figure it would be best to inform you that said page has already been speedy deleted once today, check the author's talk page for more info. -Painezor TC 02:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
