Khaosworks

I'm sorry for callin khaosworks names but i'm sure its him whos sending me extremely abusive and anti-catholic messages. Who else would argue about the issue. How did he even get my email address? action must be taken against that anti-catholic. this is discrimination! --Daniel Supreme 16:59, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Name Change Question

Do you think it would be okay to change a username from SafeLibraries.org to SafeLibraries as no one might think it's a web site and I would no longer violate policy? --SafeLibraries 03:22, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Let me add this. I see you deleted the comments of another wikipedian who was not polite to me in his request for a name change. He also requested that my user page be "speedily" deleted. Now I see another wikipedian essentially reversed his action on that page saying my user page need not be deleted. Question, given that other user was sort of overruled by you and someone else on two separate pages, do I still need to change my user name? Besides, the policy "discourages" names like mine but does not exclude them, and other users have even agreed I should keep my name so the source of my additions is well known. So do I still need to change my name? --SafeLibraries 03:39, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

VP Ongoing Issue

For some reason my name has been removed from the list of authorized users. I was added by Betacommand here [1], and he welcommed me here[2]. I had difficulties using it, did everything I could myself, was unable to, so I requested assistance here [3]. Instead of assistance, I was removed from the list. Because I have had difficulties on wikipedia recieving help from administrators when requested, this message is in essence a generic template I am writing on all moderators' talk pages and discussion boards in the hopes of recieving if nothing else a response - ideally, however, a solution. Thank you very much and apologies for my impatience. Gregorof/(T) 05:31, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: Vandal fighting

I understand your concern but once again there has been a jumping into conclusion. I use test 3 and then test 4 and then report the user when i do vandal fighting. I call it a three strike system.

Also, the last vandal attacks i have seen have shown some pretty constructive attacks. Some have destablized senstive articles while others vandalise and then revert their attack so no one is none the wiser.

Rather than tighting anti-vandlism, i think issuing warnings concerning article senstivity should be made. Special semi-protections may also be neccesarry.

I am sorry if my work is interfering with Wikipedia. -Dynamo_ace Talk

The trouble is i am getting fed up of all these vandals ruining wikipedia. I am also fed up of those who destablile articles to make it have a US bais, something which Wikipedia can do without.I have seen 3-4 vandal attacks each day.

How can we really combat vandlism without putting the community at risk?-Dynamo_ace Talk

Turned down for VandalProof

Thanks for your notice. I knew it was a forlorn chance to apply before I had 250 mainspace edits but I thought it worth a shot. A friend now uses it and I'm very impressed with its abilities and power. I'll apply again when I'm over the minimum level. Cheers. --Pigman (talk • contribs) 20:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

I guess I was more eager than I thought. I now have over 250 mainspace edits. As a friend said when she got over 1000 edits: "Where's my pony? What do you mean I don't get a pony? I could have sworn a pony was mentioned..." So I've added my name again to the list for VandalProof approval and thought I'd mention it to you as well. Ooo, it feels like Christmas! (fill in your own special day if necessary.) Thanks! --Pigman (talk • contribs) 05:43, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Welcoming committee

i was wandering if there was a welcoming committee and if so how could i join? And i wanted to know how to get a contents for talk pages and thanks for the welcoming committee info i joined. sorry but one more question how do i get user boxes like the ones that i can be reached by e-mail and like to hike and that stuff(im refering to saxteacher's userpage). And also does it have to be main space edits or just 250 total edits?--The Dwarf_King 21:29, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

IE7 runs over IE6 since it's no beta anymore. It works with VP1.2 and 2.0 though. I would also like to thank you for your dedication, thanks for the help (even if the problem isnt fixed). --Deenoe 01:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Proxy check

Hi, please excuse the intrusion. I saw your name on the list of verified admins. Was wondering if you had any idea what happened to Shauns's Open Proxy Checker - I was using it to identify proxies but it's been dead for the last two weeks or so. It'd be great if you can point me to alternative sites which can help identify an open proxy as such. tnx! Odedee 04:06, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your speedy response, I'll take it to him. Keep up the fight :) Odedee 04:11, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

can't log in to VP

Hi, I can't log in to the new version of VP. All I get is the message that I'm not on the user list, even though I am (or at least should be, as I was approved on September 24: [4]). Perhaps you could help. --AAikio 08:06, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I have 1.3 - I'd had problems with the login with 1.2 as well so I just updated, only to discover that I still can't log in. --AAikio 06:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Cookies are enabled. 1.2 originally worked just fine, but then the login mysteriously stopped working (maybe a month ago or so) without me changing any settings. I read that there had been some general problem with the login of 1.2, so this might perhaps be due to this and unrelated to the current problem? But recently I downloaded the newest version with the updated login procedure, and this always gives the error message that I'm not on the user list. --AAikio 06:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
