About your revert here. I did provide a summary, but I made 2 edits in a row, so my second edit didn't have a summary. --GeorgeMoney T·C 21:37, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I understand. --GeorgeMoney T·C 21:48, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
All of these things should go in the guide. --GeorgeMoney T·C 22:24, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

afd request

I was wondering if you could close the afd for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paul Harris (Lawyer). It has been around for a while, the "vote" is unanamous, but it hasn't been closed. Thank you, Thetruthbelow (talk) 17:16, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

I was actually on the afd page when you sent me your last message, and I was about to tell you that it wasn't unanamous. My bad. Still, is there any possibility about closing the afd? Thanks for all your help, Thetruthbelow (talk) 18:27, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for the quick reply. On the topic of the afd, take as long as you want going over it, because it is possible that it should not be deleted, and that I missed something. My concern was that no admin. had seen the afd, and therefore couldn't close it, but thanks to you I no longer have that concern. Thanks again, Thetruthbelow (talk) 18:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Wondering about Wikipedia

Thank you for your help, and I am amazed by the editing of and graphics used by other Wikipedia users and administrators. Do they have special software for making their pages and such? Who works for Wikipedia and do they get paid? I have no interest in doing so, but I am curious. Minutiaman 21:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks again for your help. Am I correct that the method for cleaning up vandalism is to revert as you did and in this way no article will ever be lost? Can vandalists destory entire articles so that no one may restore them? I ask because I am amazed that Wikipedia runs so well in a world with (but mostly not of) malicious people. And secondly, do some articles automatically put the name of the editor and the date for edits? For an article I did not know to put the tildes and it appears my edit is fully recorded. Or is this always the case and tildes are not used for the pages of article edits but talk pages only? Either way, I see now that I should have left summaries of my edits, although luckily for the ones I didn't it appears that anyone can compare histories to see what changes were made. Anything I said wrong? Anything else I should know? Minutiaman 21:54, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

need your help

Hi, I am a new user who found your page by just clicking through links and ended up here. I only know a very little about editing and stuff. Could you tell me where I can learn to write wiki markup and find all the stuff that I need to learn while being here, if there is such a place? Twasmetrec 21:35, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, Prodego! I appreciate your quick response and your links to find all the tools of editing and everything. Sorry I didn't sign before. Twasmetrec 21:46, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey, don't want to be a pain in the neck. But can you tell me how to do the thing that let's users know if I am on Wikipedia or not? Thanks. Twasmetrec 21:55, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

CSD 7 says it's only for pages created by mistake, this page certainly wasn't. I don't think it's appropriate to speedy delete a page that has numerous keep votes on its MfD. --Tango 22:25, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

His deletion was a good choice. --GeorgeMoney T·C 00:26, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
By the numbers, there were (in the short time this was open) five votes to keep and tag, six to delete (counting the nominator) - which would not have yeilded a consensus to delete. That the creator of a page wishes the page to be deleted does not outweigh the interest of some portion of the community in keeping the page as an example of a policy proposal that was not accepted; I would not have deleted the page until the debate was over, but since anyone is free to re-create the proposal, I would not bother undeleting now it unless it was picked up at WP:VfU and directed to be undeleted there. It seems that this is a test case for a larger question - should policy proposals, once created, ever be deleted outright, or should those that are not desired always be tagged as rejected and so maintained forever. bd2412 T 01:19, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
I am not sure I want to be involved in a test case. I will have to carefully consider this situation before I make a decision on what to do. Prodego talk 02:00, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

It's not really a test case - had the debate gone on it would have been resolved like any other MfD. The issue is that CSD 7 specifically says it's for pages created by mistake, not for any pages the author wants deleted. By all means propose that CSD 7 be modified, but until it is, this page was deleted against policy. --Tango 11:23, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

How about undeleting it, marking it as rejected, and then leaving it. If someone wants to restart the MfD, they can. Basically, go with what the decision was when the MfD was closed (no concensus). --Tango 15:37, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

HELP ME. I can't figure out how to post! -Caleb Furth

FROM CALEB FURTH - Each of these people have their own heading and everything. How do I do that without editing their posts?

Oversight

Did you notice this[1], I wonder if arbcom will post any accepted user requests there.Voice-of-AllTalk 16:57, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

RfCU inputbox stuff

Do you use IRC or any kind of instant messenger? It would be very helpful for us to be able to coordinate this in real time. I have IRC as well as AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and Skype, if you use any of those. Essjay (TalkConnect) 02:06, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't use IRC, but I could use AIM in a pinch. Do you use g-mail for your e-mail, if so then we could use Google Talk? Prodego talk 02:08, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
I've not used Google Talk before, but I do have Gmail. I'll see if I can't figure out how to work it. Essjay (TalkConnect) 02:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh it is pretty easy, simply log in to your account here. As long as you didn't turn off Talk in your settings, I should be able to send you an invitation to chat with me. I do need your e-mail address first though. Prodego talk 02:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Mods to your monobook.{js|css}!

Whew, looks like my wikibreak lasted a whole month! Head over to my talk page when you have a moment and let me know what needs doing! ~Topaz 02:07, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Just wondering if you meant for this to be Imput or Input. Looks like a simple typo to me, but I thought I'd ask before moving it. AmiDaniel (talk) 02:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, go ahead. Prodego talk 02:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Done. AmiDaniel (talk) 02:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Oooh, that's nifty. How did you do that? AmiDaniel (talk) 02:20, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

See m:Help:Inputbox. Prodego talk 02:24, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I went and played around in my sandbox. Pretty nifty though ... I've already got ideas flowing through my brain. I love the editintro diddy--wish I had found that earlier! *goes to look at the help file* Thanks! AmiDaniel (talk) 02:26, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Advertising

User RachelMcKendree seems to be adding advertising links to several chant-related pages.[[2]] I'm pretty sure this isn't kosher, but I'm not sure what the protocol is. What's the policy, and what should I do? Peirigill 18:53, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the info! Peirigill 19:06, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you so much for the changes on my user page. I was trying to figure how to center align the picture and the rest, and you did it for me. I really appreciate it. Thanks, Thetruthbelow 20:12, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Actually, I kinda like this color of red. Thanks for the advice though. Thetruthbelow 20:26, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Hangon

Actually, I've been told/under the impression that once the argument is made, the hangon is removed. Yanksox 21:26, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
