Project was prepared since March 2008, when Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst came to Moscow[5]. The creation of adapted Linux distribution for Russia is a part of FOSS extension program in Russia, which was discussed during Whitehurst's visit.

Project is developed in accordance of users needs and possibilities of its expansion in Russia. For example, it have to be considered that high speed Internet is not available everywhere.
