I have run as an Australian Greens candidate at state, national and local levels.
2001 Australian Federal Election edit
I ran as the Australian Greens candidate for Division of Kooyong in Victoria, Australia in the 2001 federal election.
The Greens primary vote in Division of Kooyong increased to 10.7%
2002 Victorian State Election edit
The Greens primary vote for me in the upper house seat of East Yarra was 14.52%
2004 Australian Federal Election edit
I ran as the Australian Greens candidate for Division of Kooyong in Victoria, Australia in the 2004 federal election.
The Greens primary vote in Division of Kooyong increased from 10.7% in 2001 to 12.3% in 2004. The sitting member Petro Georgiou (Liberal) suffered a swing against him of -0.42%, which was opposite to the state-wide swing to the Coalition in Victoria. In 2004, Kooyong received the 11th highest Green primary vote in Australia.
The Division of Kooyong in inner east Melbourne has traditionally been a "safe" Liberal seat. However, the seat is now classified as "fairly safe Liberal" as voters move to the Greens and the Australian Labor Party.
"Safe seats" don't attract much attention or spending in Australian elections as it is the outcome in marginal seats that determines who wins elections.
2004 Boroondara Council Election edit
I ran for Maling ward as a declared Greens candidate. I came 4th out of 5 candidates getting 16% of the primary vote.
2006 Victorian State Election edit
I ran as the Greens candidate for Box Hill
2007 Federal Election edit
I ran again as the Greens candidate for Kooyong.
2008 Boroondara Council Election edit
I ran for Cotham Ward as an independent candidate. Cotham Ward in Boroondara.
Despite securing the highest number of primary votes (35%) I was not elected, due to other candidates directing preferences to David Bloom (who was a member of the Liberal Party).
2012 Borooondara Council Election edit
Running for Maling Ward as an independent candidate. Peter Campbell independent candidate for Maling Ward.
